Missional Support

The year was 1992, the month – July.
The place – Marsh Lake Bible Camp, Yukon Territories, Canada.
During one week of camp, I’ll never, ever forget the immense joy and excitement in seeing nearly every child make a profession of faith in Christ. That is missional living! While we won’t always receive a warm response to the gospel, we MUST live a missional lifestyle. Our singular purpose in this world is to be an ambassador for Christ – sharing the salvation message, discipling believers, and meeting human needs. The heart and soul of Northpoint University, therefore, is missional in nature. Northpoint University (NPU) serves as a platform for the preparation and training of servants, pastors, and missionaries. Regardless of one’s occupation, one’s calling is to be a missional agent for Christ in one’s context. Our DNA is missional! In that light, we want to be engaged in missional work beyond the educational setting. To do so, NPU gives one percent of its revenue each quarter directly to ministries – churches, missionaries, nonprofits and the like. Our desire is to not only equip students to live missionally, but to also be directly involved in supporting missional work. While this may seem unusual for an educational institution, we believe missional living is vitally important and want to demonstrate our commitment to it. Our hope and prayer are that you, too, will grasp the value of a missional perspective, and live your life accordingly to the glory of God. Steven Hostetter, Ph.D. President
